Twitter is such a great and very important social media platform and you either as a user or a social media personality should take advantage of this. I think through twitter, if you are already an established company or artist, you can keep engaging with your audience and connect with them. Nowadays, this has become very important. I mean look at Taylor Swift, I would not be surprised if we find a picture of her having a picnic with a fan at central park like it is not a big deal. All this is thanks to social media. Today, I want to show you which accounts are the most followed worldwide and the reason I find behind that.
First of all, of the popular accounts are celebrity related
I think this has to do with the fact that we want to know what the people that influence us, at least on a musical level, have to say. As an audience we want to connect with them and feel as if they are also normal like us and one way is through twitter. I mean think about it, isn’t great to follow an artist that you know has a verified account and answers some random tweet you send them? I think that is pretty cool.
Katy Perry is the artist with the most followers
Honestly, I think this doesn’t come as a surprise. I have seen social media news saying that Katy Perry’s twitter account is handled exclusively by her so that means If she replies to your tweets, if wasn’t her manager talking to you through her account. Being very active on social media means lots of retweets, followers, replies and marketing opportunities and Katy Parry has definitely taken advantage of this situation and it is clearly seen by looking at her twitter follower count.
Justin Bieber comes in second
In the past year, Justin Bieber has been a very huge hit musically. So this has basically been a snowball effect. Becoming a worldwide hit means, a LOT more twitter followers. Plus, we all want to know when Justin announces if he got back with Selena right?
There are many more artist that make up this list but I just wanted to talk about a few of them. Having said that, I think that some of these artists take their social media platforms very seriously and love engaging with their audience, others just find it easier to buy twitter followers.
