I’ve spent a lot of my time not only surfing the web but also playing games. Something that I’ve noticed is a constant fight between those who play games on PC and those who play games on a console. Some people even call themselves as part of a PC “master race” or console “master race”. I’m more of the type who will enjoy any game regardless of platform. However, I have noticed quite a few differences between PC and console games.
Based on experience, I’ve noticed how certain games look very realistic when played on PC. However, on the newest consoles it’s almost as if the game has come to life. Not all gamers care about graphics though. Some people prefer the experience rather than how cool or realistic the graphics may seem.
Another difference between PC’s and consoles are the controls used in them. For PC your only controls are your mouse and your keyboard. With consoles it’s a bit different given the wide range of consoles. Each console comes with its own controller designed where players can have a better and easier gaming experience.
I’ve used both controllers and mouse and I’ve noticed that depending on the game you’re playing it is more comfortable to use a controller. There’re also certain games that are a lot more comfortable to play with a mouse (e.g. shooting games).
If you’re a lover of both PC and console, there are ways to play console games on your PC. However, you will most likely need the controller of the console connected to your PC in order to play.
Playing multiplayer games on PC or consoles is a matter of preference. Both are equally enjoyable but some people prefer a certain platform over the other. On PC and on certain consoles you’re able to talk to your teammates while playing in multiplayer mode.
Something that will affect your gameplay is the computer and console you use. Newer models tend to have better performance and graphics than older models. However, it also depends on the game that you’re playing. Some games sometimes have bugs or glitches which ruins gameplay no matter on which platform you play it with. That said, some games don’t have the best graphics (e.g. Minecraft).
If you’re the type of person who prefers graphics over anything else then I suggest Skyrim. That said, if you’re a person who prefers gameplay over anything else, then I suggest Minecraft. If you like a combination of both great gameplay and graphics then I recommend Dishonored.
The only downside to playing games on both PC and consoles are the prices of the games. Some games can cost up to 60$ which not everyone can afford making the gaming experience undesirable.
Bottom line is, whether you’re a PC “master race” or a console “master race” it’s all about preference. Each of us have our own preference and we should simply respect people’s opinion and enjoy the game.
